Data and Sources
Every figure on this site comes from one of four places. This page sets out which, and how current each one is.
Property data
Property facts come from a compiled Booking.com data set: town, property type, star classification, review score, review count, an indicative price band, coordinates and eight amenity flags (pets, pool, family rooms, shuttle, restaurant, bar, EV charging, Wi-Fi).
This data was compiled in August 2026 and every score and amenity block on the site carries that date. Review scores in particular move, so treat them as a snapshot rather than a property characteristic.
Distances and drive times
Road distance along the standard driving route from each town to the Grand Canyon South Entrance Station on AZ-64, with a typical off-peak drive time. Figures are given at town level, because properties within each town are within a few minutes of each other.
We do not use straight-line distance anywhere. Two things are excluded deliberately: queueing at the entrance station, which is highly variable, and the further 7 miles from the entrance station to Grand Canyon Village.

Park operations
Anything about closures, roads, shuttles, seasonal access, in-park lodging operators or North Rim status comes from the National Park Service, and we link to them rather than restating it. Their information is authoritative and ours is a snapshot.
Editorial judgement
The verdicts, the "best for" and "do not choose this if" sections, and the comparisons are our own reasoning. They are derived from the facts above and nothing else. Where we could not reason from a verified fact, we left the section out.
What we do not have
We hold no verified data on breakfast, parking, air conditioning, accessible rooms, laundry, kitchenette. We also hold no verified review scores or amenity lists for the lodges inside Grand Canyon National Park, because they are not sold through the channels our data covers.
Where those gaps matter, our pages say so and send you to the property or to the National Park Service.
Verification before you book
Everything here should be confirmed with the property for your specific dates, particularly seasonal operation, pool status, pet terms and room configuration. A guide compiled in August 2026 cannot know what is true on your travel dates, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise.
