Best Hotels Near the Grand Canyon
There is no single best hotel near the Grand Canyon, because the right answer depends on how far you will drive and what you want from the stay. What we can do is name the strongest option in each category and show the criteria behind it. Every pick below states what it is best at and what it costs you.
Reality check
We do not rank by commission. The order on this page comes from review score, review depth, location and confirmed amenities. Several of our picks are budget properties where the commission is smallest.
How we select
Everything in our guide clears a floor before it is considered: a Booking.com score of at least 7.5 across at least 50 reviews, a verified location, and a genuine relationship to a Grand Canyon trip. From that pool we weigh four things.
- Review score, weighted by depth. A 9.5 across 66 reviews is a weaker signal than a 9.0 across 1,000, and we say so where it matters.
- Real location. Drive time to the South Entrance Station, and whether the property is inside the park.
- Confirmed amenities. Only the eight fields we actually hold. We do not credit a property for facilities we have not verified.
- Distinctness. Whether the property does something the alternatives do not.
The full method is on how we select hotels.

Questions
What is the best hotel near the Grand Canyon?
There is no single answer. For the shortest drive with full hotel service, the Tusayan hotels. For the best combination of review score and rate, El Rancho Motel in Williams. For being inside the park, the Grand Canyon Village lodges. The right choice depends on how much driving you will accept.
Are the highest-rated hotels also the most expensive?
No. In this guide the strongest scores sit in the value and mid-range bands in Williams, while the upscale properties in Tusayan score lower. You are paying for location in Tusayan, not for a better-reviewed room.
Do you get paid to rank hotels higher?
No. Links to Booking.com are affiliate links, but they do not affect which properties we include or the order we present them in. See our editorial policy.
